Leaf cutting ant
Leaf cutting ants are insects in the order Hymenoptera, family Hymenoptera, and are a general term for dozens of ants capable of cutting leaves. Named after being able to cut leaves. Leaf cutting ants are mainly distributed in dry tropical and subtropical regions of Central and North America. They mostly inhabit the tropical jungles of the Amazon. Social animals. They will dig holes underground and build wide and respectful ant nests. Leaf cutting ants are one of the most socially complex ant species and an important consumer of tropical ecosystems. Having outstanding architectural talent, the nest can be built up to 8 meters deep, while ensuring air circulation from the surface to the center of the nest.
